Description
This hand-tooled Urli (Indian cooking vessel) shaped bowl was made in India, exclusively for DAI. Adorned with etched roundels, the inscription is based on the central portion of the roundel inscribed with: ‘ala Allahi fi kul il omuri tawakuli (Rely on God in all matters) Inspirational object: LNS 137 M is a decorative steel roundel inlaid with gold, the central circle with an elaborate calligraphic device. From the Iranian world, 17th – 18th century, the Jawhar (watered) steel is pierced, engraved and inlaid.
