Description
This hand-tooled basin is made of polished brass, exclusively for DAI in India. The etched design was inspired by an 8th century object in the collection. Inspirational object: LNS 110 M is a brass basin from Egypt or Syria, 8th Century AH/14th Century CE. It is inlaid with silver featuring thuluth inscriptions lauding an officer of al-Malik an-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qala’un. The design includes ogives (pointed arches), roundels and various animal and vegetal motifs.
