Description
The hand-crafted brass inlayed design on these exclusively made Cockle Shell wood boxes were inspired by the underside of a pair of gilded silver bowls. Inspirational objects: LNS 1524 M a-b is a pair of gilded silver bowls with sleeping erotes and four cockle shells is from Indo-Greek / Indo-Seythian-era South Asia, mid- 2nd century BCE. They were hammered from silver sheet, with the central roundel hammered separately, decorated with repousse and chasing and soldered to the bowl.
