Description
This hand-tooled tabletop frame of nickel-plated brass was made in India exclusively for DAI. The top is etched and enamel painted with the Arabic inspription: al’Allahi fi kul il omuri tawakuli – Rely on God in all matters. Inspirational object: LNS 137 M is a decorative steel roundel inlaid with gold, the central circle with an elaborate calligraphic device. From the Iranian world, 17th – 18th century, the Jawhar (watered) steel is pierced, engraved and inlaid.
