Produced to celebrate the liberation of Kuwait, our vintage crystal paperweight was exclusively made in England for DAI, complete with presentation box. The square Kufic inscription was designed by Manuel Keene, former curator of The al-Sabah Collection & expert in Kufic calligraphy, during the 1990-91 occupation of Kuwait. Kufic calligraphy is a discipline involving the composition of rigorous designs on a square grid in which letter forms & background are of the same dimensions and of equal design impact.
