Double-sided Roundel pendant w/ silver chain

Description

Our beautifully made roundel pendant was inspired by an intricate ‘watered’ steel roundel with the Arabic inscription: ala Allahi fi kul il omuri tawakkuli (Rely on God in all matters). Made exclusively for DAI in Syria using time-honoured techniques, it is made of metal alloy with brass. Inspirational object: LNS 137 M is a decorative steel roundel inlaid with gold, the central circle with an elaborate calligraphic device. From the Iranian world, 17th – 18th century, the Jawhar (watered) steel is pierced, engraved and inlaid.
