Description
This Calligraphic Bird metal box of exclusive design for DAI, is hand-tooled and etched nickel-plated brass from India. Inspirational object: LNS 858 C is a 10th century earthenware bowl from 10th century Iran. The inscription is repetition of letters, perhaps loosely based on the conventionally “blessing”. The bird in the centre is formed in a calligraphy style with wings abstracted into half-palmettes.
