Description
This nickel-plated brass cake server was exclusively made for DAI in India. Inspiration object: LNS 1667 M, which is a small ladle with hemispherical bowl and slightly flattened base with separately applied handle of flat tapering form and with duck’s head terminals where the handle is attached to the bowl and engraved leaf pattern at the back. The handle terminates at the top in the head of a snarling lion, separately cast and applied with a kind of knot or bow to the back. From the Arabian Peninsula, AH Pre-Islamic/2nd century – 3rd century CE (100 – 299).
